Harm Reduction
Other Ways To Stay Safe

- Avoid using drugs when you are alone. Using alone means that there is no one to call for help or use Narcan if you have an overdose.
- Make sure your partner has Naloxone and is familiar with how to use it.
- If you don’t have someone to use with, use one of the apps:
- Start with a small amount of your drug. You don’t know how much fentanyl may be in your dose.
- Go slowly. Fentanyl is fast acting. Using slowly may give your body some time to adjust and see how it will affect you.
- Try using a different way. Instead of injecting the drug, snort or smoke it instead. Switching the way you administer your drugs can reduce risk.
